Making an Appointment
Once you contact CBHC, we will ask a few simple questions to make sure your needs are best met by our services. If not, we will refer you to an appropriate provider.
This process will include:
- Reason(s) for your appointment
- Psychiatric history
- Medical history
- Information about other services being received
- Insurance information
CBHC clinicians follow a problem-solving approach to therapy and treatment, which includes comprehensive evaluation, collaborative development of goals, and psychiatric assessment as well as medication when appropriate.
Treatment and therapy for older adults may focus on the transitions of aging, coping with bereavement or loss, family support, memory loss, dealing with health issues and independent living skills.
A community psychiatric support treatment (CPST) specialist - case manager - may be assigned to help individuals on a regular basis to access needed services and show improvement in work, family and integration within the community.
